Faith is believing that when everyone else chooses to leave, you rest in knowing that you are not alone and God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalms 34:18) Faith is believing in a God who you have never seen before with your two eyes, but choosing to trust in His undeserving and grace-filled faithfulness that He shows you over and over again. That means that whatever we do choose to put our faith in, matters.įaith is trusting in God’s promises even when it seems like there is no way that those promises could be for you. The Bible says in Luke 16:10, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Our faithfulness, even in the smallest of things, holds immeasurable power.
Faith is trusting God’s promisesįaithfulness is a big deal to God as He does not take it lightly. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.” Our faithfulness begins in us through the Holy Spirit yet thrives outside of us. Faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit, a gift that when harvested properly exudes through every step we take, every word we speak, and every act we commit. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”įaithfulness comes from the Latin word fideles which means the act of being faithful, loyal, or trusting to another person, group, or entity. There is no relationship with God without having faith in His works. Faith is choosing to believe in God’s Word over your own eyes.
Having faith can be easy when the storm’s waters around you are calm, but it can be extremely difficult at times where it seems like the waters around you are going to overturn your boat-your place of safety and refuge.
